Steve Jobs  Paul Jobs (1955-2011) was an American entrepreneur and inventor who co-founded Apple Inc. He is widely recognized as a pioneer of the personal computer revolution and the modern smartphone industry.

Jobs was born in San Francisco, California and was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. He was raised in Mountain View, California and attended college briefly at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He then dropped out and returned to California where he attended meetings of the Homebrew Computer Club with Steve Wozniak.

In 1976, Jobs and Wozniak co-founded Apple and developed the first Apple computer, the Apple I. The success of the Apple I was followed by the introduction of the Apple II, which helped popularize the personal computer. Apple went public in 1980 and became one of the world's most valuable companies.

Jobs left Apple in 1985 and founded NeXT Inc., a computer company that developed advanced computer systems for higher education and business. In 1986, he acquired the computer graphics division of George Lucas' Lucasfilm Ltd, which later became Pixar Animation Studios.

In 1996, Apple acquired NeXT and Jobs returned to Apple as CEO. He led the company's transition to new hardware platforms and the introduction of the iMac, iTunes, the iPhone, and the iPad. Under Jobs' leadership, Apple became the world's most valuable technology company.

Jobs passed away on October 5, 2011, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. His death was widely mourned and he was widely recognized as a visionary entrepreneur and inventor who had a profound impact on the technology industry and the world at large.
